Executive Statement |
Ella Dayzie (Navajo) Executive Director For over thirty years, the Indian Walk-In Center has addressed the specific needs of American Indian and Alaska Native individuals and families living along the Wasatch Front. We provide a wide range of wellness and social life-way services directly through our own programs and by working closely with many non-profit service organizations within our service area to meet our clients’ particular needs. Our Center also serves as the central gathering place for Indian community events such as Pow Wows, conferences, lectures and concerts. In everything we do, it has always been the Indian Walk-In Center’s mission to reinforce our family and community strengths, and to honor and reaffirm the cultural values and rich heritage of the Native peoples of this land. |
Indian Walk-In Center Values 1. Creating a welcoming and safe environment as an extension of generosity and compassion. 2. Acknowledging and respecting the truth of each individual’s beliefs. 3. Respecting the historical perseverance of our ancestors by honoring the wisdom of our elders. 4. Honoring the life passages and experiences each living individual embodies. 5. To sustain the learning and acceptance of cultural traditions, identity, and values. 6. Decision making and communication is open and respectful to the needs of the community being served. |
